Rina was looking at the gigantic banner of the “Regional Beauty Pageant’.
Since childhood, she had only one dream – ‘to become Miss India’ and she was just a step away from her dream to come true.
She walked towards the registration counter to know more about the details –
“The winner of the competition will be given a chance to participate in Miss India Contest.”
At the registration, her queries were resolved by the assistant, Abhishek.
Rina had been a model from past 3 years in a small city called ‘Raipur’.
Due to financial constraints, she couldn’t go to Mumbai, but fortune was on her side, the competition provided her perfect opportunity to fulfil her dream.
Rina had Caucasian blue eye, long Swedish legs and skin with a perfect tan.
Whenever she walks, many gazes follow to admire her hourglass figure.
No guy could resist the enticement to turn back for the second look.
She had those looks that makes every guy fall in love at the first sight.
Like every other guy, Abhishek was smitten by her looks and her facial expressions.
Abhishek was neither tall, nor handsome, nor rich but had a cute round face with a gem of heart because of which he invariably ended up either as a friend or as a Rakhi brother.
The competition’s prelim round began where registered models had to walk on the ramp and the organizer selected the top 10 for the next round which comprises of a grooming section.
Rina walked with such a poise and grace that she captured the attention of the entire audience.
She simply dazzled the stage.
The organizer was impressed by her poise and selected her among the top finalists.
In the next round over the period of ten days, they were groomed for the final event by the industry experts, specializing in various aspects such as ramp walk, fashion, beauty tips, fitness and attitude.
Over the duration of the course, Abhishek started interacting with Rina.
Soon they started hanging together on breaks and became close friends.
The final event was split into two days. The Judge will select the top five and the next day, final winner will be selected among them who will go to Miss India contest.
The final event occurred and the judge for the event was famous fashion choreographer John Robinson.
The contest started and models started walking on the ramp.
Soon, the judge started asking each contestant what she will do if she becomes Miss India.
Question: What is the essence of being a woman?
Rina: “Just being a woman is God’s gift that all of us must appreciate. The origin of a child is a mother, and is a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman. “
There was a thunderous applause by the audience.
On hearing the answer Abhishek remarked ‘she is a perfect blend of ‘Beauty with Brains’ and ‘Beauty with Purpose’. She is intelligent, witty and carries herself with poise.
Judge announces the top five finalists in which Rina was selected and wish them Good luck for the final contest.
While leaving, the judge called the organizer and said something in his ears and went away.
At back stage, the winners were celebrating. There were tears of joy in Rina’s eye.
She was on cloud 9 and proceeded to the locker room to match her clothes for tomorrow’s event.
The organizer called Abhishek to find Rina as he wanted to speak to her in private.
When Rina walked in, the organizer told if she wants to win the competition, she has to sleep with the judge.
Rina started crying, organizer tried to console her and said ‘iss field mein aisa hi hota rehta hai. It’s very common and you have to compromise and it’s not a big deal. If you win, you can be the part of Miss India‘.
He continued persuading her and finally she succumbed to the pressure.
He asked Abhishek to drop Rina to judge’s suit.
As they walked together, Abhishek repeatedly told her ‘don’t do this, please don’t do this and I beg you please don’t do this. You will regret it later’
She replied ‘I don’t have any option, I am 24, and time is running up. Shortly I will be old and won’t be able to compete with younger models. It’s now or never for me. Don’t make me feel worse about my action.’
As they approached near the elevator, Abhishek holds her tightly while stammering said –
“Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That’s all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh. Cause I love you.”
There were tears in her eyes and she embraced him tightly and kissed him.
Inspiration:
Recently, in a flight I met a guy who left the event management industry because of the wide spread casting couch.
We hear about it, we know about it yet we don’t protest it.
prAts!
Its not a new or recent phenomenon.. Women have been the victims of sexual harassment all through the ages. Even the entertainment industry is not an exception to it.. We can just talk /write about it but can’t stop it however
