These are few random thoughts written in Feb 2021
# 1 Whenever you’re in a challenging situation, ask yourself “This is good because…”
In the book “You’re Badass”, author gives an advice on dealing with challenging and difficult situation by following simple mantra of asking yourself ‘This is good because…..”. When you start thinking like this than your perspective changes and bring positive outlook. For example, if you ever faced flat tire, you can say – This is good because I get to talk to my kids or listen to podcast or talk to my friend while I wait for mechanic”
#2 Importance of Financial Freedom..
In the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, author says ” poor people work for money while rich people let money work for them’. If you keep spending money than it will never grow instead invest where money generates passive income. Take bold risk. Invest in real estate, gold, stock instead on spending on depreciating assets like new car or expensive watch.
Obviously, my perspective of wealth is different. I grew up in a middle class where my father was the sole earner. We had enough but never more. As a kid, sometimes I would envy other kids when they brought expensive stationary or went on exotic vacations. As an adult, I feel that it’s stupid. My parent provided a happy childhood with best education. No money can place that joy.
My mom always say “we were born with empty hand and we will die with empty hand but we should have enough money that we should never beg to anyone.”
#3 Your first job should be sales..
Persuasion and communication (written & oral) are the most vital skill in the corporate ladder. Sales teaches you those skills hence I think that everyone’s first job should be in sales. Also, it’s brutal and teaches you to handle rejection in life.
#4 Our mind is our biggest asset and gift..
We should continue to engage our mind. Always stay childishly curious. Read, develop new hobby and learn from different people’s perspective. Keep an open mind to new ideas and experiences.
#5 Understand a concept in such a way that you can explain to a 5 year old..
You can’t build a skyscraper without solid foundation. it’s important to understand basic concepts in such a way that you can explain to anyone including a 5 year old. Use a voice recorder (if required). Most problems that we encounter in daily life, someone has written a solution about it. Continue to read more as there is no new problem.
#6 It’s never too late..
As an Indian kid, most of my childhood was spent studying. It’s a competitive environment and most parents believe that the safest way to succeed is through academic excellence. Although, I did play cricket with neighborhood kids but study was always a priority. Anyways, I think that every child should learn these three hobbies
- Martial Art: It’s a badass world and everyone should learn to defend themselves if there is a need. Also, martial art teaches discipline and focus.
- Dance/Drama: Dance is the best stressbuster and boost confidence. As a kid, it’s easier to learn since your body is flexible.
- Music: Playing any instrument or singing is the coolest thing ever.
It’s never too late. As I didn’t had any time during childhood, I enrolled myself in martial art (Muay Thai) and latin dance (salsa). I can say that I am decent salsa dancer and beginner level in Muay Thai (don’t depend on me, I can’t fight yet).
I bought a guitar in first year of job and realized that I don’t have interest in learning music instrument.
On a side note, I bought a Origami book and planning to learn every Sunday. Although, I am still procrastinating.
#7 Action speaks louder than words..
You should focus on finishing things rather than procrastinating.

#1 I love this. The way I conduct my life is “Since this happened..” it’s easy to fall prey to the situations and wallow yourself in sorrows BUT if we look forward than backwards most of our worries would end there.
#2 My Dad would always say “Invest in yourself” and buy a new welder or a crane for this factory (he is a Mechanical engineer) because the better his tools are the better his work would be!
#3 My current job is Sales. I am not afraid of rejection- either at my work or in my personal life. I am voraciously bold.
#4 Aah I really wish to brush my language skills. I am really into Latino music and I’m looking forward to speak the language someday!
#5 Do you practice this with you nephew? ☺️
#6 Same. I got into public speaking after 21, when in fact such competitions exist in middle schools! Better late than never!
#7 Attention is NOT intention. Action is
