I have wasted infinite number hours watching television.
As a kid, I would sit in front of television for hours switching from channel to another and watching cartoons such as dragon ball z, spider man, X- men, Captain America.
I still can’t resist the temptation to watch the latest episode of Games of Thrones.
Nevertheless, I completely agree with an old saying “T.V is an idiot’s box”. Television shows are directed in such a way that they make you wonder “what’s going to happen next”. One TV show ends and another starts again making you wonder “what’s going to happen next” – the vicious cycle never ends.
Given a choice I would spent time reading a book than watching television show or a movie.
Below is an interesting poem that describes what I want to convey through this blog.
Poem – “Television” by Roald Dahl
Before this monster was invented?’
Have you forgotten? Don’t you know?
We’ll say it very loud and slow:
THEY … USED … TO … READ! They’d READ and READ,
AND READ and READ, and then proceed
To READ some more. Great Scott! Gadzooks!
Thanks for a Lovely Message
I don’t agree fully. Everything has two sides. You have to decide what you want. Television brings you lots of good things too.
Two side of television are unequal. There are more drawbacks than advantage. How often we watch discovery channel or NatGeo, mostly we watch shows that are addictive and complete waste of time..
Time enjoyed is not wasted time .
That is what i said: Its for u to decide!! Don’t all the superhero movies give u all the boost! Didn’t scooby doo tell u that there are no real monsters, they are just masks, didn’t shaktiman tell u to switch off the lights when not in use!!
