When somebody asked me “What’s on your mind”, I reckoned for few seconds and thought –
“What’s on my mind?”
If you’re thinking it’s that defect which I’m unable to fix, then you’re absolutely wrong,
I’m smart – I don’t work, I simply pretend to work.
If you’re thinking it’s that beautiful girl who sits in the opposite wing, then you’re absolutely wrong.
It’s the cute girl who sits in the opposite wing.
If you’re thinking it’s what is going to my latest update, then you’re absolutely right.
What’s the first thing in our mind when we logged into Facebook.
Most of the time, we are thinking – What should be my new status? What should be my new display picture? What is the number of likes on my new DP/status/album?
Every time we click a picture, even before appreciating the picture, the first thought in our mind is whether this picture can be my next Facebook display picture or not?
Think about it –
These days, we are more concerned in showing that our life is happening rather than making our life happening.
For instance, you have 2000 friends; I have just 500 friends, we are choosing quality of friends over quantity of friends.
Even if our life is tedium, we try to make it happening with the constant status update or check in.
We constantly demand people’s love or attention through social network updates.
Another thing, we constantly compare our life with others.
We look at the life of others –
Wow he/she is in Goa, while I am just sitting at home.
Wow his/her photo got 200 likes, my display picture just got 50 likes.
We constantly waste our time in checking and admiring the picture of our friend’s Facebook friend.
One fact to my friends –
“By stalking his/her profile, you can never meet the person so stop wasting time.”
Why we have to keep checking our phone for notifications which are nothing but ridiculous Farmville/candy crush requests?
Why we prefer to chat rather than meet a person?
Let me tell you my interesting observation –
Social media is based on very interesting phenomena of Act of Time waste. (Read an article on The Economist about it)
Facebook statistics –
Everyone knows this fact that if Facebook would have been a country it would be 3rd largest country but none one knows these stats – How much we waste time on Facebook?
WHY?
It’s impossible to calculate the amount of time we waste on Facebook.
Think about it –
Does it matter, how many Facebook friends he/she has?
Does it matter, how many likes she/he got on the photos?
Does it matter; he/she is in Goa?
Does all the above point matter?
No right?
So stop comparing and start living your life.
Remember, there is a bigger world outside Facebook and it’s called Real World.

Whenever I saw anyone checking his phone, mostly it used to be a blue colour application (FB) but now it is a Green colour app (Whatsapp).
I am not critic of Facebook or Whatsapp, they are really good medium to stay in touch and good source of entertainment.
The problem lays when we start overdoing /overusing it, when we start to prefer chatting over meeting a person. When you meet a person, you leave a memory in the other person’s mind.
I’m making sure that I check Facebook once a day (I will reduce it to twice a week soon) and Whatsapp four time a day.
prAts!
