“Live, Laugh & Love”, the beggar shouted at every passenger coming out of the Central Park subway station. The beggar had long dark hair, long beard, and melancholic eyes. His clothes were shabby, dirty and torn. He was holding a board with “Live, Laugh & Love” written on it.
He kept shouting “Live, Laugh & Love” to every passenger while everyone ignored him. Every by passenger considered him a crazy old beggar, but he wasn’t your ordinary crazy old beggar, he had a gift to read through people’s soul.
He looked at a couple coming out of the subway station. They were holding each other’s hand and looked happy. They were lost in each other’s company. The beggar looked at them and shouted ““Live, Laugh & Love”, the man paused for a second looked at him, yelled at him and walked away. The beggar again shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, but the couple didn’t listen to him so he looked at their soul. He found out that “the couple was pretending to be happy while they were miserable in their marriage. They constantly argued and loathed each other’s presence. Both of them were pretending to be a perfect couple for the sake of society’s happiness. They continued to live their life in misery and unhappiness”. The beggar felt sad for the couple.
He saw another man coming out of the subway station, he looked like a typical investment banker, wearing a Versace suit, Rolex watch, and Christian Louboutin’s shoe. The beggar looked at him and shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, the man paused for a second, looked at him, yelled “F*ck Off” and walked away. The beggar again shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, but the man didn’t listen to him so he looked at his soul. He found out that “the man was pretending to love his work while being miserable. He didn’t find numbers, powerpoints, and spreadsheets fascinating. He was a Painter disguised as an Investment Banker who continued to live his life in misery and unhappiness.” The beggar felt sad for the man.
He saw another person coming out of the subway station, he was a middle-aged man wearing a Yankee cap and a blue jacket. The beggar looked at him and shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, the man paused for a second, looked at him, abused him and walked away. The beggar again shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, but the man didn’t listen to him so he looked at his soul. He found out that “the man’s life was falling apart while he was still in denial, pretending everything was good and didn’t make an effort to improve it. His marriage was crumbling, his kids didn’t listen to him, and his boss wasn’t happy with his performance. He continued to live his life in misery and unhappiness”. The beggar felt sad for him.
The sun went down, the disappointed beggar slept on the bench near the subway station. He woke up with a stray white color puppy wrapped around his arm. The beggar again shouted “Live, Laugh & Love” at the passengers, the puppy barked “Bow Bow Bow”. He patted the puppy and continued to shout at the by passengers. Every time, the beggar shouted “Live, Laugh & Love”, the puppy barked “Bow Bow Bow”. The beggar looked at the puppy’s soul. Finally, he found the “Love, Loyalty and Care” which he was craving from the strangers. At that moment, he adopted the puppy and named him “LOVE”
